Terms of Use

Effective 16 October 2026

Buy a license once and keep it, with updates. If it isn't for you, ask for a refund within 14 days.

Buying a license

A license is a one-time purchase at the price shown at checkout. There's no subscription and no free trial; the 14-day refund is there instead. It includes updates to NotchTime. Purchases are processed by Dodo Payments, the merchant of record, which also handles sales tax and receipts; Dodo's own terms apply to the payment itself.

Using your license

  • It's for you, on your own Macs, up to the number of Macs shown at checkout. To move it to another Mac, deactivate it on the old one in Settings › License.
  • Please don't share, resell or publish your key, or work around the license check.
  • The app checks the license with Dodo about once a week. If you're offline it keeps working; a key that's been refunded or revoked stops working at the next check.

What the app does to your Mac

With your permission, NotchTime reads which app and which browser tab are in front, and what's playing, and keeps that on your Mac. If you turn on blocking (a goal's limit, the Focus lock or the Morning lock), it hides the blocked app and sends a blocked site's tab to a blank page. It never quits apps or closes tabs, and every lock can be turned off. The Privacy Policy covers exactly what's recorded and sent.

No guarantees

NotchTime is made with care, but it's provided as it is. Time tracking is an estimate: macOS can change, browsers and media players may not report everything, and some minutes will be counted differently than you'd expect. Don't rely on it for billing, legal or safety purposes. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses from using it, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for your license. Nothing here takes away rights you have under the consumer laws where you live.

Refunds

Within 14 days of buying, you can get a full refund, no questions asked. See the Refund Policy.

Changes

If these terms change, the new version goes here with a new date. Changes won't take away a license you already bought.
